The Obamas name their new dog "Bo" after Bo Diddley
The Washington Post reported in its online editions Saturday night that Obama's daughters chose the name Bo for the pup because first lady Michelle Obama's father was nicknamed Diddley. The name for the dog was an apparent reference to the singer "Bo" Diddley. Malia and Sasha must be pleased. The Obama family named their new Portuguese Water dog “Bo”. The black and white dog is six months old and was a gift from Senator Edward Kennedy. Malia and Sasha Obama chose the name in memory of their cousin’s cat and first lady Michelle Obama’s father whose nickname is Diddley.
