Don Threadgill’s untimely and sudden death is certainly a loss of a good man who exercised his faith everyday as he worked with all people to the height of the office he held in Choctaw County.

He always had a smile and a good word for everyone he met. He held the key to information that he was not short on sharing so that we all could excel. The NAACP Community mourns his death and prays the family will have the strength that he had to preserver.

As Don shared with us last week that he was going to be hospitalized Monday (9/14/09) his last words to us were “Ya’ll pray for me.” I certainly have loss a friend, but I am the better for having known him.

It will be hard to fill his shoes and he will be noticeably missed. May God watch over his family and continue to give his Grace to us all. C

. Maria Macon, President Choctaw County NAACP
